Eden

Before you is a spectacular mass of metal in the vague shape of a building. A large aluminum door is fixed tight to the building by a truly impressive number of bolts, which appear to be welded to the form. The walls mimick this 'welded' effect, globs of metal positioned as though they dripped down from the crust above. The neat door seems firmly out of place, actually, though who knows how they may have replaced it. Just to the left of the door is a frame, surrounding the shape of a small handprint. Below the frame is a plaquard which reads:

'The Great Burn - August 2, 564 Reyes Era'

The handprint has a stump for a middle finger, and upon closer examination the hand is not that small. Probably. You have nothing to compare it with.

Below the main floor, the building stretches down for what seems to be forever- a truly bottomless pit. The tip of the building disappears into the light of the Core. It seems the building material changes after the first floor, though. Good- the once-molten metal was an eyesore.

Beside the building is, well, another. To the left is another metal building, though far more sleek and with no visible door. It does, however, have nice painted-blue lettering, marking the building as the:

'Central Water Reserve'

Huh. The building is nearly as deep as the one beside it, which probably makes sense.

The building to the right is far more normal, walls textured like concrete and painted a creamy off-white. The lettering on this building is raised and metal, painted a sleek black. It reads:

'Sol Undra Station'

There are more signs on lower floors, probably targetted towards those walking on the lower paths as you cannot make them out. The crust rumbles slightly, gradually increasing and then slowing as a subway car pulls into the station. If you hurried, you could probably catch a ride.

Then again, you have all the time in the world. So what will you do first?

  • Enter the building in front of you
  • Enter Sol Undra Station
  • Look behind yourself
  • Head left
  • Head right
